Special Guest

PKF Chairman
Javier Mantilla
Mantilla began his martial art career within the Shitoryu Karate system  A product of the Venezuelan national program, he has since moved through the ranks as one of the Pan-American region’s finest coaches and referees.  Mantilla regularly provides technical assistance to national programs in Pan- America, Asia, and Europe.  He has extensive knowledge of athletic training methods used by the world’s most powerful programs.  He has trained many world level players including recent WKF World Champion Antonio Diaz, and has his own team of players which he calls “Mantilla’s World Team” which was featured at the recent 2008 US Open Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Though his credentials are formidable, his style of coaching makes him very approachable to players.  As an expert coach he does not judge players, instead he provides useful information for players to improve their existing skills.
We are
fortunate to have Mantilla’s support as we prepare our athletes for the national tournament.
